Advancement and Precision through Tooling Expertise

Our tooling expertise ensures maximum precision, flexibility, and efficiency: aluminum and steel tools are manufactured to fit perfectly for every series size—aluminum for fast implementation and small to medium series, steel for durable large series and complex geometries. The mold inserts are produced using high-speed cutting (HSC) on 5-axis milling machines, with minimum milling radii of 0.15 mm for filigree structures and exact dimensional accuracy. Optimized tools thus ensure precise, reproducible plastic parts over a large number of injection molding cycles.

Injection Molding Process at 1zu1scale

At 1zu1scale, we have more than 20 injection molding machines with clamping forces ranging from 10 to 160 tons, which efficiently, flexibly, and reliably produce plastic parts ranging from a few millimeters to DIN A5 size. The vertical machine position allows the insertion and overmolding of a wide variety of parts, so that cable overmolding, connector parts with insert pins, or multi-component parts can also be easily produced. For optimum surface quality, we use bar, tunnel, hot runner, point, or film sprues, depending on the requirements. Hot runner sprues with needle valve nozzles in particular ensure virtually flawless surfaces on injection-molded plastic parts.
