1996 - 2008

Founding and rapid growth

1zu1scale was founded in 1996 under the name HTS Humml und Hämmerle Tooling Service Ges.mbH and, within just a few years, developed into a technological pioneer in prototyping as 1zu1. The company grew dynamically through continuous expansion of its service portfolio and early adoption of innovative manufacturing technologies. New processes, a growing workforce, and international customers characterized this phase. In this way, 1zu1 laid the foundation for sustainable growth and technological excellence early on.

2009 - 2021

Company in the fast lane

Since 2009, 1zu1 has been on the fast track – marked by technological milestones such as the world's first series production plant for laser-sintered parts made of polyamide, state-of-the-art e-drive injection molding machines in clean rooms, and other innovative manufacturing technologies. In 2010, the expansion of the company's premises marked an important step in its development, with its own vacuum casting hall, new sales offices, and modern infrastructure. The coronavirus pandemic marked the first turning point, causing growth to stagnate temporarily – but without slowing down 1zu1's course of innovation.

2022 - today

1zu1scale as part of PROTOTAL GROUP

In February 2022, 1zu1 became part of the Swedish Prototal Group, thereby strengthening the company's future prospects and international orientation. In June 2023, Thomas Kohler took over as CEO and set important strategic priorities. Since then, 1zu1 has been investing specifically in expanding its machinery and new manufacturing technologies, particularly in 3D printing and series production. With the launch of the 1zu1scale brand in January 2026, the company is sharpening its clear focus on series production.
